About Us

NAMA B.C. was conceived during the meeting of six Mapuans on April 28, 1994 at Mr. Hon's Restaurant on Kingsway St, Burnaby, BC.

The founding members were Eddie Alfonso, Leo Flores, Chito Jambalos, Alex Mendez, Rod Santos & Digno Vibat. That occasion was followed by several meetings at Leo Flores' residence until the members attending numbered more than twenty.


On September 15, 1994, the body was formally organized with the election of its executive officers. The elected officers for the term 1995-1996 were:

The Birth of NPOW

  • NAMABC's presence on the web (NPOW) was influenced by the work of the late Mr.Precy Ordinario ME'74 and PRO of Southern California Mapua Alumni for 1997-1998, and being the newsletter editor of NAMABC, I mentioned to Joe Pante and Victor Dalisay the need of the newsletters to be on the net.

Mission & Goals

  1. To promote camaraderie among members and their families.
  2. To provide assistance in finding business and/or employment opportunities through the creation and maintenance of member's directory.
  3. To undertake any technological, social, charitable, recreational, and educational activities beneficial to members in particular and the public in general.
  4. To disseminate information and innovative technological trends and practices to members through newsletters and meetings.
  5. To encourage/assist members to join professional associations or societies.
  6. To protect and uphold the integrity of the association to the good of all members of the association.
  7. To tell all other Mapuans that we exists in BC.
