CHRISTMAS PARTY

The preparation for the Christmas party is well underway now. Members are reminded of this  coming event on November 30 at Renfrew Park Community Centre. Tickets are available through your area coordinators, for any particular concern you can  phone Dexter Tarampi at 942-8726. Bring your family and friends and enjoy. We expect to see you there.

MORE SOCIALS !!!

As has been traditionally done in the past, we are going to meet on December 13 at the Fantasy Garden. In lieu of our general meeting we are going to spend some time knowing each  other and have some fun.  For new members, this is an opportunity to know more your fellow Mapuans and get acquainted with their spouses. This will be exlusive for members (and spouses) only. We are inviting every member to come. The cost of food, which should be minimal, will be announced later.

SPORTS
By Ed Alfonso

Fall is in the air with the cool mornings and falling leaves but our sports activity is just switching into high gear. We had our first bowling tournament on October 26, 1996 at the Top Gun Bowling Alley in Richmond. There were 12 teams with 3 members on each team. Each team played 3 games and all the scores of each team members were added to determine the Team Champion.

The winners were:
High Single-Male: Raul Valderama
High Single-Female: Nannette Jamillarin
High Series (Total  of 3 games): Pete dela Cruz
Team Champion: Ramon Santos, Eric Factor and Raul Valderama.

Let us give credit to the organizers Sam Quinones and Digno Vibat with the help of Nap Santos and Noli San Buenaventura for the successful tournament. After the games, we had snacks at the restaurant and our members enjoyed the Karaoke singing after the awarding of prizes. Our next bowling tournament will be on November 16 at the Top Gun Bowling Alley in Richmond.

Our first  NAMA inter-area basketball tournament started last November 2 at Our Lady of Assumption School gym in Port Coquitlam with 4 teams participating.
